How to Apply for KUR BRI as Business Capital?

KUR BRI, or Kredit Usaha Rakyat, is one of the financing options available to support productive and viable businesses in Indonesia. The financing can be used for working capital or business investment, making it relevant for entrepreneurs who need additional funds to maintain or expand their operations. BRI currently provides several KUR categories, including KUR Super Mikro, KUR Mikro, and KUR Kecil, with financing limits that vary according to the product.

For business owners, understanding the KUR BRI application process is important before submitting an application. Applicants should prepare the required documents, make sure their business meets the applicable requirements, and apply through an official BRI channel. This preparation can make the process more organized and help applicants avoid mistakes or fraudulent offers.

WHAT IS KUR BRI?

KUR BRI is financing provided by BRI for individuals, business entities, or business groups with productive and viable businesses. Its main purpose is to provide access to business financing, particularly for entrepreneurs who have limited additional collateral. The funds may support working capital, such as purchasing inventory and supporting daily operations, or investment, such as purchasing productive equipment and expanding business capacity.

The available KUR products have different financing limits and conditions. Based on BRI's current information, KUR Super Mikro has financing of up to Rp10 million, while KUR Mikro ranges above Rp10 million up to Rp100 million and KUR Kecil ranges above Rp100 million up to Rp500 million. Interest rates and other conditions can vary according to the applicable KUR scheme and government regulations.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR KUR BRI?

Applicants generally need to have a productive and viable business that meets BRI's applicable requirements. BRI's current KUR information states that the business generally needs to have been operating for at least six months, although specific requirements can differ depending on the KUR product and current policy. Applicants may also need valid business and personal identification documents.

Applicants should also pay attention to their existing credit obligations. BRI states that certain existing consumer loans, such as KPR, KKB, and credit cards, may be permitted under the applicable requirements, while other conditions regarding outstanding financing can apply. Current BRI information also mentions NIB and NPWP among the general criteria for certain KUR schemes, so applicants should verify the latest requirements before applying.

DOCUMENTS TO PREPARE

Before applying, prepare important personal and business documents so the verification process can proceed more smoothly. BRI's KUR information lists documents such as KTP, Kartu Keluarga, and business permits for relevant KUR Micro applicants. Depending on the product and current regulations, additional business documents such as NIB, NPWP, or other legal documents may also be required.

Applicants should make sure the information in their documents is consistent and valid. It is also useful to prepare basic information about the business, including the type of business, operating period, estimated turnover, expenses, and intended use of the financing. Having clear business information can help applicants explain their funding needs to the BRI officer during the application process.

HOW TO APPLY FOR KUR BRI?

The first step is to check your eligibility and prepare the required documents. After that, visit an official BRI service point, such as a BRI branch, sub-branch, BRI Unit, or another official channel that provides KUR services. BRI has specifically stated that KUR applications should be processed through official BRI units and authorized BRI personnel, rather than through unofficial online links or social media accounts.

At the official BRI service point, explain your business needs and desired financing purpose to the authorized officer. The bank will then conduct the required verification and assessment, which may include checking business information and credit history. Approval is not automatic because the final decision depends on the bank's assessment and the applicable KUR requirements. Therefore, applicants should provide accurate information and cooperate during the verification process.

HOW MUCH KUR BRI CAN YOU GET?

The amount of KUR BRI financing depends on the selected KUR category and the applicant's eligibility. BRI's current information lists KUR Super Mikro up to Rp10 million, KUR Mikro above Rp10 million up to Rp100 million, and KUR Kecil above Rp100 million up to Rp500 million. These limits should not be interpreted as guaranteed amounts because the approved financing still depends on the bank's assessment.

The financing period can also differ according to the type of loan. For example, BRI states that KUR Micro working capital financing can have a maximum period of three years, while investment financing can reach five years; KUR Kecil can have up to four years for working capital and five years for investment under the stated terms. Applicants should choose a financing amount and repayment period that match their business cash flow.

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR KUR BRI APPLICATION SMOOTHER

Start by ensuring that your business records are clear and realistic. Prepare information about sales, expenses, stock, assets, and the purpose of the financing so you can explain how the funds will support the business. Avoid applying for an amount that is significantly higher than your actual business needs because repayment should remain manageable. A realistic financing plan can also help you estimate your future monthly obligations.

Most importantly, use only official BRI channels when seeking information or submitting an application. BRI warned in May 2026 that KUR is not offered or processed through unofficial links, personal social media accounts, or unauthorized parties, and stated that KUR applications do not require an upfront fee. Never share sensitive information such as PINs, passwords, or OTP codes with anyone claiming to process your KUR application.

CONCLUSION

Before submitting a KUR BRI application, check whether your business meets the current eligibility requirements and whether all required documents are available. Make sure the proposed financing will be used for a productive business purpose, such as working capital or investment. You should also calculate whether the expected business income can comfortably support the repayment obligation. This preparation can reduce the risk of taking financing that does not match your actual business capacity.

KUR BRI can be a useful financing option for eligible entrepreneurs who need additional business capital. However, applicants should understand that approval, financing limits, interest rates, and other terms are subject to the applicable product requirements and assessment. Always verify the latest information directly through official BRI channels before submitting an application.
